Phoenix selected by ABN AMRO as global software provider!
Published on September 13, 2008.Once again, Phoenix has proven on a global scale that the VISTAatm software solution is unquestionably the best and most robust available in the market. We are pleased to announce more exciting news about another new member recently added to the International VISTAatm User Community.
ABN AMRO is a prominent international bank who ranked eighth in Europe and 12th in the world based on total assets, with more than 4,000 branches in 53 countries, over 11,000 ATM / self-service devices and total assets of EUR 1,120.1 billion (as at 1 November 2007).
In late 2006, ABN AMRO mandated a strategic global approach for supporting the local, unique needs of the ATM / self-service device channel in each of its operating units while leveraging a single, best-in-class solution. The intention of the global ATM / self-service device strategy was to combine best practice from within ABN AMRO and allow the Bank to evolve towards a common set of tools, policies, processes and procedures across the ATM / self-service device channel. It was also important to ABN AMRO to realize that the ATM / self-service device channel would form part of a multi-channel architecture.
The Bank embarked on a global search for a partner to fulfill their self-service device software strategy that would support unique country-specific requirements, a variety of hardware types, integration with diverse back-end environments and an extensive set of global functionality.
As part of the Bank's rigorous search and evaluation process Phoenix repeatedly illustrated proven technology and partnership, demonstrated capability and provided expertise. During the extensive selection process, the bank's five regional business units were represented including: the Netherlands, Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.
In July, 2007 Phoenix was awarded this prestigious and market-leading contract. During the short period from July, 2007 to November, 2007, the second bank within the ABN AMRO family (following LaSalle Bank's lead in 2003) has installed VISTAatm into production. Banca Antonveneta, a leading bank in Italy, with over 1,000 branches and a network of more than 1,100 ATMs from manufacturers including Diebold, NCR and Wincor-Nixdorf was the initial business unit to benefit from the selection of Phoenix and VISTAatm and has successfully deployed the VISTAatm solution into their ATM network this month.
"Our strategy for a global standard on the ATM is being proven to be a success in practice. We selected Phoenix as a global standard and this was done through a very difficult process where we used the self-service device strategy to lead us and selected the best software for the bank creating savings on the short and long term...we made the correct decision as a global team." -- ABN AMRO Bank
