Kyle MacDonald, CEO Phoenix Interactive, nominated for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Kyle MacDonald, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Phoenix Interactive Design Inc., was recently recognized for her achievements at the 15th annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards gala on October 15 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Kyle joined a group of outstanding entrepreneurial business leaders who were nominated for this prestigious award, all of whom have created innovative ways of developing and delivering products and services that open new frontiers of discovery and take existing ideas in new directions.

"I like changing the rules," says Kyle, who did just that when she took on the Goliaths in ATM software and began carving out a significant share in the financial services industry for Phoenix. "That's what is so much fun. We took on the big guys and said your way of doing things is old and boring. We just broke it down and broke through."

Kyle is also driven by pride in her team. "We've taken a group of talented young people and made a stamp in our country and outside of our country. That's a huge achievement to be an exporter of software around the world."
