Phoenix Discusses ATM Trends at SMi's ATMs & Kiosks

Phoenix Interactive Design's Scott Anderson presented at SMi's ATM & Kiosks 2005 event discussing new trends in the ATM industry. The ATMs & Kiosks 2005 event, held in London, England, was organized to provide insight into current ATM marketplace and its influencing factors.

Mr. Anderson presented on the decision by TD Canada Trust, a major Canadian bank with a network of 2400 ATMs, to outsource its ATM and POS operations. The outsourcing consortium, headed by Hewlett Packard (Canada) Ltd., is comprised of various industry leaders including ACI, Diebold, Intria Items, and Phoenix Interactive.

The flexibility of Phoenix's ATM terminal software, VISTAatm, will play a major roll in transitioning TD Canada Trust's network from 473x messaging protocol on SNA to IFX messaging protocol on TCP/IP. Anderson later discussed how IFX, the new open industry standard messaging protocol, will be the standard messaging protocol of the ATM channel in the near future.

Overall, Anderson's presentation was well received by the audience who were introduced to two cutting edge topics in the ATM industry.
