Phoenix Interactive's Chris Walden Elected Chair of IFX ATM/POS Working Committee

Phoenix is pleased to announce that Chris Walden, solutions architect for Phoenix Interactive, has been named chair of the Interactive Financial eXchange (IFX) Forum's ATM/POS Working Committee. The IFX Forum is a not-for-profit standards developing organization working to develop a robust framework for the electronic business-to-business exchange of data among financial service institutions around the world.

"In our ongoing quest to provide independent software that unshackles financial institutions from the grips of proprietary hardware vendors, Phoenix Interactive wholeheartedly supports IFX standards as a means to propel banks forward on the path of open systems," said Kyle MacDonald, founder and CEO of Phoenix Interactive Design Inc. "By enlisting Chris Walden, the IFX Forum is selectively widening its reach within the banking industry to encompass partners that further its mission of promoting freedom of choice for financial institutions in purchasing decisions. In so doing, banks are driving down costs while experiencing an increase in efficiencies which translates into an enhanced experience for the customer."

"The ongoing support and development of XML standards is a critical component to the self-service channel dedicated to providing multiple options to the consumer," said Walden. "Phoenix Interactive participates in the IFX Forum as a proponent of open, non-proprietary systems architecture in the bank branch. XML provides a common format for any application to speak with the devices at the ATM, which democratizes the entire system and enables greater functionality at the customer level."

About the IFX Forum
Membership in the IFX Forum is open to anyone interested in contributing to the development of open financial standards that harness the power of XML.
