Phoenix Ready to Help Banks Transition from OS/2
In wake of the July 15, 2005 announcement that IBM will discontinue its OS/2 software by December, 2005(Story found here), Phoenix Interactive is ready to lend its extensive experience to help banks transition to a new Windows ATM environment. The announcement, that also indicated that IBM will withdraw standard support of OS/2 products by December, 2006, will force the upgrade to Windows of many North American ATM networks still using the OS/2 platform.
As the developer of the first multi-vendor, windows based ATM terminal software, Phoenix has extensive experience in helping banks transition to a Windows ATM environment. "Banks need to be aware that Windows on the ATM is not like Windows on your desktop," stated Scott Anderson, Director of Business Development for Phoenix, "The ATM environment requires a unique solution that we have been developing since our first Windows install in 2001." In fact, Phoenix was the only vendor in the ATM space that Microsoft approached to co-develop a White Paper on Windows security lockdown procedures in the ATM environment.
