BNZ

BNZ and their parent company, National Australia Bank Group, awarded Phoenix a Global ATM Software Replacement Contract following a rigorous evaluation process in late 2000 and subsequent proof of concept exercise, which started with BNZ.

The project was implemented and rollout completed on both NCR and Diebold ATMs in 2001. VISTAatm's openness and flexibility enabled the Bank to introduce numerous new initiatives including real-time foreign currency dispense functionality and prepay phone registration and top-ups. Additionally, the Bank has leveraged the solution to frequently refresh marketing and branding initiatives. Most recently, BNZ worked with Phoenix to bring the Commander product to market. As a beta partner for this product, BNZ provided valuable validation and input and subsequently made the decision to roll out Commander to their entire estate.

Why BNZ Chose Phoenix

BNZ replaced their entire ATM network with VISTAatm Terminal software in 2001 while also taking advantage of multi-vendor deployment on NCR and Diebold ATMs. BNZ quickly adopted the philosophy to maximize rapid change in their ATM channel to keep in touch with other retail delivery channels in the Bank. Since their initial implementation, the Bank has become entirely self sufficient using the VISTAatm Developer Workbench tool. They have introduced new functionality, new graphics, ongoing marketing changes, multiple languages and support for a personalized favourite withdrawal.

In the Bank's own words "Technology has enabled the Bank to create an entirely new kind of customer/bank relationship - one which is leading to more convenience, more choice, and greater satisfaction than ever before. It is redefining our workplace and will continue to do so. The challenge for us is to balance leading edge e-commerce initiatives with our great strength - our people. We are at the frontier of dynamic change and embracing new technology."
