National Australia Bank Group (NAG) awarded Phoenix a Global ATM Software Replacement Contract following a rigorous evaluation process in late 2000, which started with Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) – a wholly owned subsidiary of NAG.
Following on from successes with the initial project and implementation at BNZ, Phoenix began an initiative at NAG to deliver a "market of one" to the ATM channel by leveraging customer profile data from the Bank's CRM system. The result, for the first time ever, intelligent profile-based targeted marketing at the ATM Channel in a live/production environment with real-time lead generation and sales fulfillment.

With Phoenix and VISTAatm, National Australia Bank (NAG) has achieved a world first – intelligent profile-based targeted marketing at the ATM Channel in a live/production environment. The VISTAatm Terminal Software enabled NAG to conduct traditional ATM transactions to their switch environment while at the same time, integrate more personalization at the ATM through VISTAatm's open communication capabilities to interface with NAG's CRM system.
This CRM system has the capability to record and integrate a substantial proportion of customer interactions, which enables better knowledge of customers' preferences and future financial needs. Analytical capabilities allow this knowledge to be used to identify customer needs and provide leads and information to bankers and financial planners to pro-actively contact customers to meet those needs.
Also of note, under leadership and direction of the Group's CIO, a dedicated Partner Development Team has recently been established by the Bank and Phoenix is proud to be counted amongst a very privileged few to be categorized as a key National Australia Group Partner – as opposed to a supplier/vendor.
