In early 2003, BMO Bank of Montreal awarded Phoenix an exclusive contract to provide VISTAatm as their chosen Windows-based software solution to drive their 2,100+ ABMs. At the time of contract award, the environment consisted of only NCR hardware. Subsequent to the decision to implement VISTAatm, the Bank is now installing Wincor-Nixdorf ABMs - a testament to the platform flexibility and options enabled to the Bank. By October, 2003, the Bank was rolling out new ABM hardware with VISTAatm.

Why BMO Bank of Montreal Chose Phoenix

BMO Bank of Montreal (BMO) replaced all legacy/proprietary OS/2 software in their ABM network of over 2100 terminals with VISTAatm Terminal Software for Windows. Their initial rollout utilized the VISTAatm SNA Communications Module to connect their new Wincor-Nixdorf ABMs to their switch environment prior to their switch to TCP/IP. Their initial transaction set was augmented by VISTAatm with enhanced deposit functionality, PIN Change, Account Balance information during the transaction, audio assistance in both English and French, and an improved customer experience. The result is ease of use and improved customer satisfaction.

We have completely replaced every automated banking machine in the BMO retail bank network with the most advanced machines on the market. The new generation of ABMs have been enhanced with redesigned screens, improved transaction flows and new customer service features that will make banking from an ABM faster and simpler. The new ABMs also allow for additional future banking functions such as cheque imaging and the ability to use 'smart' Chip Card technology when it rolls out across Canada over the next few years.
